I thought today was a good birthday present in and of itself, even though I had migraine involved yuckiness all day and still do the night before my new classes, and even though I'm still limping around from my ankle injury. We have a new president, and for the first time in my life I witnessed such public enthusiasm that I actually cried a little. Yes, I understand that Obama is -still- essentially a politician, and yes, I understand that things aren't going to magically get better without work (for you continued cynics out there, including my roommate)... I was just blown away for reasons that I find difficult to describe. I suck at emotions, but I can tell when something is just -right-.
ALSO, lmao, we were in DC on Sunday to go to the American History Museum and got to witness some of the setup for today's ceremonies, and the horde of people already in the city to see the concert. We didn't make it down to the Lincoln Memorial where it was held because we had children with us and I'm still not walking all that great... BUT I did manage to get myself locked into a Porta-Potty in the freezing ass weather and had to have Chris come and help me literally break out. (The blue water in the toilet was frozen solid LOL ew) We did some waving at MSNBC cameras on our way back to the Metro and then went home and watched the concert from where we could actually see what was going on: on tv.
I'm also excited about classes starting tomorrow, I have... pathetically... missed doing math homework. I'm sure that means that there is something wrong with me LOL but hey at least it's not like I hate it deep down to my core. I'm going to be taking math classes until the day I finish in all likelihood (which might be in my mid-to-late thirties the way I keep adding onto my plans lol). I'm looking forward to my new engineering electives, and getting out of the house, and having new and stimulating things to think about again. I've been doing a lot of looking into much future and it just makes me more and more impatient. I'm sure that will wear off mid-semester when I'm struggling not to drown in homework.
Things that have been suggested, requested, or that I've started and not finished for various reasons (in no particular order):

also I can't help but giggle at the idea off Lindsay locked in a Porta-Potty XD

groundhogs day is the 2nd. I....don't think I'm a groundhog? last time I checked I wasn't >_>
I went in to talk with him about other smaller things but he looked at my transcript and told me that "they would admit you tomorrow with these grades"... which... was a nice thing to hear because I am not really happy with them lol. And he had in general other encouraging things to say about the faculty at UMBC (which is apparently an Honors University) and how connected they are and how good and dedicated they are about helping their students move on to graduate programs. So. I'm quite pleased. lol
For dinner, we are going to a place here in Annapolis called The Wild Orchid... which is... hella expensive and schmancy but omg their food is good. Neither Chris or I would spend money like that even on a special occasion unless the place was worth it, so I'm looking forward to it. Last time we went, there was two feet of snow outside for my birthday so it was just that much more of a bonus LOL, eating dinner next to a fireplace.
